About the author
I am A. K. Singh, Former Chief Manager, Punjab National Bank, and a banking professional with more than 36 years of experience in the banking industry.
I joined Punjab National Bank on 4 May 1990 and retired from the Bank on 31 July 2026. Throughout my banking career, I have remained deeply interested in banking policies, products and schemes, operational guidelines, regulatory developments, and, above all, the continuous learning and professional advancement of fellow bankers.
With the objective of helping colleagues prepare effectively for the Bank's Internal Promotion Examinations, I started compiling and preparing study material in 2016 under the title "FINGER TIPS". What began as an initiative to simplify and organise complex banking information gradually evolved into a comprehensive series of study materials appreciated and widely used by the staff of the Bank.
"FINGER TIPS" has particularly gained recognition for bringing important regulatory instructions and circulars into a concise, structured, and examination-oriented format. It has become one of the most awaited and popular study resources among the Bank's staff, especially for those aspiring to advance their careers through internal promotion examinations.
I firmly believe that knowledge becomes truly valuable when it is shared. My effort through FINGER TIPS is therefore not merely to provide study material, but to make the learning process easier, more structured, and more purposeful for every banker aspiring to enhance professional knowledge and progress in his or her career.
After a long and fulfilling career in banking, I consider it a privilege to continue contributing to the banking fraternity through knowledge-sharing, guidance, and continuous learning.
