RBI increased the Bank Rate by 25 bps from 5.50% to 5.75% with immediate effect, per the Monetary Policy Statement 2026-27. Penal interest rates on CRR and SLR shortfalls linked to the Bank Rate rise to 8.75% and 10.75% depending on the duration of the shortfall.
