RBI Enables Interoperability Among Account Aggregators, FDs to Appear in CAS

7 October 2026 · The Times of India

The RBI has enabled NBFC-Account Aggregators to work across platforms, letting customers share financial data through any AA. Depositories regulated by SEBI can now include bank deposit account details, including FDs, in the Consolidated Account Statement.

Points to Remember

  • RBI announced interoperability among NBFC-Account Aggregators (NBFC-AAs) during the bi-monthly policy announcement.
  • Customers can now access and share financial information through any NBFC-AA of their choice, across different Financial Information Providers.
  • SEBI-regulated depositories are permitted to include bank deposit account information in the CAS via NBFC-AAs.
  • CAS will now show mutual funds, stocks, insurance and fixed deposits together; demat holders see holdings plus deposits in one statement.
  • Both measures are scheduled to be implemented by December 31; the AA framework was launched in September 2016.

Why it matters

Customers will soon see FDs alongside investments in a single statement, making tax reconciliation against Form 26AS easier and helping spot unrecognised accounts or deposits early. Expect more queries on nomination status of deposits and consent-based data sharing.
